What are your opinions on giving "transgender's" the access to go into their choice of bathroom? ie: giving a female-to-male child the choice to go to the bathroom in the boys restroom (and vise-versa).
I think letting men use men's bathrooms and women use women's bathrooms is the bare minimum to be honest, and that includes mtf as women and ftm as men obviously. However I think the way forward is unisex bathrooms which will not only include enby's but make life easier in lots of other aspects, like it will be better for parents with young children of another gender (dad's with daughters/mums with sons).
One draw back of this though is for example Muslim women, they don't uncover their hair where men can see but an easy solution to that is have cubicles with toilets, sink and mirror all together which I think will be better for things like when your on your period as well.
I don't get it. Do you guys have an open plane bathrooms in US schools? Whre I live, a bathroom could be packed, but we have something called stalls, and I wouldn't even know who occupies them. Unless I'm some pervert who tries to sneak a peek, but I could do that regardless of gender, sexual preference, or what have you.
I sometimes think that USA citizens are thriving on making an issue out of something marginal.. to avoid looking into the real issues within their society, perhaps?
Yeah, this is the why the idea that if you let trans men into mens bathrooms/ trans women into women's bathrooms they will assault/harass people is so idiotic. There ARE stalls in bathrooms - though men's do have urinals. The point is only perverts and creeps would do such a thing in a bathroom of the opposite or even the same gender, but being trans and perverted do not correlate in any way. The idea that trans people go into bathrooms to harass people is blatantly transphobic.
If you bring transgender bathrooms to schools you have to think of the consequences. A boy could spy/bully transgenders in the restroom and no one could tell him shit because he would just tell the teacher "oh I am transgender now" and then technically a day later could say oh I'm not transgender anymore. He could even go as far as to say oh I am only transgender when I enter the transgender restroom.....that is the problem with gender as it is totally up to the mind unlike your sex. You have to look at why bathrooms were created separately in the first place and base what actions you take to rectify the situation on how it would negatively affect those reasons. Now if you were to create intersex bathrooms that would be more plausible in one sense as it is actually a "sex" not a "gender" but completely unreasonable in another sense because the intersex population is like %.05. My point is that nothing is as cut and dry as so many people believe it to be...it takes time and research by experts to come to a reasonable decision on these things.
So you think that I should be allowed in the females locker rooms and showers at my gym simply because i can getaway with it by saying im a girl? lol. Aside from the fact anyone who thinks they are something they aren't on such a issue like gender needing mental help, Its not so much about them as it is about those who will simply abuse the ability. If we as a country decide to pander to the minority, like we already do so much, its leading to a horrible and dangerous path to failure in so many bigger picture issues.
Trans people should be getting psychological help not being put in regular schools, If you believe you are the opposite sex you should be attempting to find help from doctors or physiologists

Hope this makes sense :)

i think this should never ever be considered.
Gender is a social construct and as a result anyone should be able to use the bathroom they feel most comfortable in.

i think trans people should be treated as the gender they chose to be witch includes going to the bathroom for that gender
