Transgender women should not compete in women’s sports because biological differences give them an unfair advantage. Even after hormone therapy, traits like muscle mass, bone density, and lung capacity—developed during male puberty—remain. These advantages make transgender women physically stronger, faster, and more resilient than cisgender women, which is critical in competitive sports where physical ability is key.
For example, muscle mass and bone structure developed with higher testosterone levels don’t entirely revert, even with reduced hormone levels. This means transgender women can generate more power, recover faster, and withstand greater impacts compared to cisgender women. These differences undermine the level playing field essential for fair competition.
Women have fought for equal opportunities in sports, and allowing athletes with inherent physical advantages to compete against them jeopardizes that progress. Respecting gender identity is important, but it should not come at the cost of fairness in competition.
To address this, alternative solutions like creating open or inclusive categories can allow everyone to compete without compromising fairness. This ensures inclusivity while maintaining the integrity of competitive sports. In conclusion, biological realities must be considered to preserve fairness in women’s sports.
Women are physically different than men. Transitioning from male to female is physically impossible and very dangerous if done so. "Women athletes are known to be less strong and powerful than equally trained men [1], muscle strength of women indeed, is typically reported in the range of 40 to 75% of that of men [2]; women are also known to be less powerful than equally trained men." (Bartolomei S. et al., 2021). With research and scientific evidence, there is inevitably a huge difference between the physiques of women and men. How is it fair for a woman to compete with a physically stronger man?
Transgender women are women.
If people are so worried about testosterone levels in athletes, then sports should probably be categorized by testosterone levels instead of by gender.
There are females that naturally have higher levels of testosterone than the average female, and males that naturally have lower testosterone than the average male. Why is there not a discussion on making it more "fair" for them?
they shouldnt its literally not fair if its really that big of a deal they should just make a section for trans woman and trans men even though its literally the same but opposite 😬
Now, if a man has felt like he needed to become a woman. She still has the manly figure and everything a man would have and because men are built to be more muscular, ext.. this could be unfair for people born a female.
