absolute or constitutional?

absolute -- hell no.

constitutional -- a reasonable idea. some of the best countries (in terms of life expectancy, gdp per capita, political freedom) are constitutional monarchies. i'm thinking about UK, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Japan.
