We have surpassed the need for months to be devoted to minorities because it seems most people (and companies) only care about these people during these short period of times, which is becoming detrimental to the bigger picture of minority rights, relevance and history. So rather than have months where black history is exclusively taught, it should be fully integrated into the education curriculum so it isn't swept under the carpet for the rest of the year when it isn't deemed relevant.

I personally disagree because theese are to celebrate the history of it, or just to celebrate the freedom of theese people. For example black history month is to of course Celebrste black history, people with a different skin color skimmed to the side and be ignored, it’s important to recognise theese people and the impacts they had. Though I do agree with your point That it should be put to the Broad Education system but it’s more from school it’s for everyone to learn about,
Nuh uh
I agree for the same reason Morgan Freemon agrees.
I wouldn't say that getting rid of those months is going to help shine more light on black and LGBTQ+ people and history. Taking away celebration in those months isn't going to make school curriculums change.
i think we should take away lgbtq month why should they get a whole month of THEIR choices. but with black history month https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3cGfrExozQ&ab_channel=randypagan
I agree get rid of those months but, dont add them into school either because the LGBT month is purely about religion and beliefs and schools and government are not soposed to favor religion.
It is to celebrate both the civil rights act and the stonewall riots, which gave those minorities their rights. I believe they should be allowed to celebrate getting their rights after fighting for so long and now they finally have freedom. By your logic we should also get rid of veteran's month, but of course you should disagree with this for various reasons. They've earned their pride and history month so more people can be educated on what happened in the past to those minorities to prevent it from ever happening again.
I strongly disagree for various reasons. The purpose of Black History and LGBTQ+ months are events that occur on the basis of remembering important events and people in black history as well as to spread the message and work to achieve justice and equal opportunity to those in the LGBTQ+ community. So not only do these months serve the purpose of honoring and educating they also further recognizing minorities and are remembrance and appreciation- a step against the hatred of people in the minorities. I understand your argument that it may be becoming detrimental to the bigger picture, but by getting rid of these months we are further ignoring minorities, and to the general public at least this time is used to honor and educate themselves about these minorities, and even without these acts or events at all we are practicing ignorance as a society. I agree that this education should also be included for the entirety of the year, but having a special month where minorities are taken into relevance with honor and support, we are only helping support these communities, having no negative effects whatsoever to our society. But by removing these months ignorance may continue or strengthen among our society which is not beneficial by any means. For anyone who questions the importance of black history and LGBTQ+ months, please look into the past, and racism, suppression, and homophobia are all wrong and are formed on the basis of hatred. These months honor, cherish, remember, educate, and remind people of these communities' presence, and troubled, dark history of being suppressed, discriminated, and acts of hate hurting and attacking human lives, simply cause of race and/or their gender identity or sexuality. I hope you reconsider your thoughts and educate yourself on the necessity for change.
